John Absher

Attorney

John Absher represents investors and business owners in a wide range of real estate transactions, including but not limited to purchase agreements, survey and title reviews, objection letters, commercial lease negotiations, and limited partnerships for commercial real estate developments. Drawing on his unique background overseeing his family’s businesses—ranging from movie theaters and franchise restaurants to commercial real estate properties—John brings a hands-on, business-savvy approach to his legal practice. He is known for simplifying complex issues and drafting clear, plain-English contracts to prevent later confusion in transactions.

John earned a B.A. in History from Harvard University and a J.D. from Tulane University School of Law. He is Board Certified in Commercial Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

John is a member of the Real Estate Legislative Affairs Committee of the Texas Real Estate and Probate Institute. He enjoys working with the Legislative Affairs Committee because it helps other attorneys understand new laws affecting their practices, and it equips him with to better serve his own clients. He is also a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and past Fellow of the Leadership Academy for the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Texas Bar.

John regularly writes and presents CLE articles to the Texas Bar and local bar associations around the state. John also guest lectures in University of Houston classes for young business owners and entrepreneurs.
