Gabriel R. Segovia
Attorney
Gabriel Segovia focuses his practice on commercial litigation and dispute resolution, representing landowners, investors, lenders, business owners, and more, in matters involving commercial leases, construction projects, real estate development, loan agreements, and other business disputes, in both Texas State and Federal Courts. He assists clients through all phases of litigation, including appeals, and works diligently to develop strategies that align with their business objectives.
Before entering private practice, Gabriel gained valuable insight into the judicial process through several judicial clerkships and internships. In his first year of practice Gabriel served as the inaugural law clerk for Chief Justice Scott Brister of the Texas Fifteenth Court of Appeals. The Fifteenth Court of Appeals, created in 2024, has statewide exclusive jurisdiction over civil cases involving the state, state agencies, or state officials, and appeals from the Texas Business Court. During law school Gabriel also interned for Justice Debra Lehrmann of the Supreme Court of Texas and Justice Ken Wise of the Fourteenth Court of Appeals. While in these judicial roles, he analyzed a wide range of legal issues, drafted and edited opinions, and gained a unique perspective of how the judiciary evaluates cases.
Gabriel graduated magna cum laude and is a member of the Order of Lytae. During law school, he served as an Articles Editor for the South Texas Law Review, a representative of the Texas Aggie Bar Association for the Aggie Law Student Association, and a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board. He also served as the student representative for the school’s Free Speech Policy Committee.
Prior to law school, Gabriel worked in sales and project management serving businesses in the oil and gas, aviation, construction, and manufacturing industries. This experience allows him to better understand the operational and strategic challenges clients face and to approach disputes with a practical, business-oriented perspective.
As an undergraduate at Texas A&M University, Gabriel was a member of the Corps of Cadets, where he served as an artillery officer in Parson’s Mounted Cavalry.
Outside of work, Gabriel volunteers as a member of the Breeders Greeters Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Committee, which helps with the logistics of moving livestock in and out of the Livestock Show.
